Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
What a year we have had! This year has been filed with lots of excitement, some good, some not so good. As many of you may know we live in South Mississippi and are originally from the Gulf Coast and many of our friends and family live there and were effected by hurricane Katrina. But God has been very good to us and though there has been vast material loss, all of our loved ones are safe.
Our home is located 100 miles north of the Coast and during Katrina we had 130mph winds, tornados, and were out of power for four weeks. Unfortunately our house did sustain damage and may not be salvageable. But like most everyone else down here we are waiting on insurance and all of that good stuff for the final word.
Three days after the hurricane we went to stay with family in Illinois, where we helped to organize food drives and deliveries for rural Ms. Communities effected by Katrina. (see photo gallery) We were touched by the kindness and generosity of the people in Illinois who so willingly opened their hearts and gave not only food and money but theie time and service as well. And through this process we were Blessed with many new friends who we will treasure for a lifetime.
Looking back over 2005, all in all it has been an amazing year filled with Blessings and Miracles. Our eldest brother Dwight who lives in California with his wife and children, was in a terrible motorcycle accident in July, on life support and not expected to recover, has now made an almost complete recovery and is doing incredibly well (Thank you all who were praying for him and his family). Our youngest brother Cecil, after the hurricane, had an extended stay in the hospital with a serious case of pneumonia, and thanks to many prayers is back to his old self. Also our Aunt Betty had an amazing rescue by her heroic neighbor from her flooded home during hurricane Katrina and is now working on rebuilding her home. So we are eternally grateful for all the wonderful things that have happened this year, even though there have been some tears in the process the Blessings and Miracles have been well worth it.
We had planned to have our album out this Christmas but due to the hurricane, production has been postponed till this spring. We will keep you all updated here on the website.
In November we were in Danbury, Ct., at The Danbury Fair Mall (see photo gallery), we had a wonderful time there with all our friends welcoming in Santa. We also had a wonderful visit with the children and families at the Children’s Hospital in Dayton, OH. We then played at St. Helen’s Elementary school in Dayton (see photo gallery) were we danced with our friends Sierra, Cheyanne, Dakota, Gabby, Lindsey, Lisa, Lexi, and many other. After Dayton we headed back down to Mississippi the first part of December to the Waynesboro Elementary School (see photo gallery) where we had lots of Christmas fun with the kids and teachers and we also saw our good friends Keri and Mr. & Mrs. McDonald. Then it was down to Hattiesburg MS., were we had a great time performing for the DeLois Smith All Star Team Christmas party. A couple of days later we were back in Waynesboro at the Bridgeway Daycare Center where we sang and danced with about 150 of our little friends there including our friend Sydni.
Well we have had a wonderful Christmas break at home spending time with our family and friends and now it’s time to get ready for 2006. January and February will find us at Trade Shows and then it’s back on the road, working on the album and a few other projects. We also hope to accomplish our goal of getting a children’s television series in 2006.
We hope the New Year finds you and yours happy, healthy, and with your loved ones near. We look forward to seeing you all in 2006!
